Many of us have a decent grasp on how to make our homes and work places more eco-friendly. Having so many choices of fixture bulbs, coffee cups and grocery bags these days certainly helps, but what about the furniture? Eco-Friendly furniture has great environmental advantages and, although not yet mainstream, it also carries a higher price tag until popular demand makes larger distribution a reality.

Recently as we planned for our new storefront, we landed this charming bungalow on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood and all of a sudden it was time to bring the funk, elegance and our signature personality to this new home.

Less than a month ago Zaid and I were feeding the beast in both of us at the Urth Cafe in West Hollywood and saw a 'for lease' sign right across the street. Jackpot, we thought. So, we walked across the street into a courtyard to check it out. And yes. It was. Indeed. A jackpot. Score. A call was made. The lease was signed. The keys were placed in our hands. We looked at each other and decided that an occasion like this most definitely deserves a party to celebrate it.

Many believe the process and production of an event to be simple steps, Concept - the development of ideas and themes, Draft - the details and outline of the event and Production - the execution by the Design team and vendors the day of and 'poof', AMAZING. I will concede that yes, some events may follow that path. However, most if not the majority don't. In fact, the majority have the predictability of an earthquake, and that is what makes the design production world not a good fit for everyone. As a company responsible for producing the A to Z of an event, we have to be willing to revisit a step several times if that's what it takes to deliver "AMAZING".
